Lake Wobegon Summer, 1956That's the title of a novel by Garrison Keillor, which could just as well have been titled Lake Union Summer, 1956. That's when this family snapshot was taken of my twin brother James (rowing) and I exploring Lake Union near Erskine, Minnesota. Below the black and white is a modern photo of the same lowly beach that was once the center of our existence.
PHOTO BANNER: Dome of the Wilbur Cross Building, a signature on campus. Rennovated Student Union. Central campus, opposite the main entrance to the Homer Babbage Library. Oddball artwork always makes me wonder, which I suppose it it's purpose. All photos courtesy of University Communications unless otherwise noted. |
